About Me
I am a plant-eating primate who is humbled to have been in the presence of great apes. As a writer and engineer, I love both words and numbers. My technical interests are in soil behavior, earthquakes, climate change, water resources, and waste management. I write about animals, agriculture and social and environmental justice and selections of my work can be seen at Satya Magazine, The L Magazine, SolveClimate, and the Philadelphia Weekly. I am an Associate for the environmental action tank Brighter Green, focused on sustainability, equity and rights, and will be blogging here as well.
My Essay “Small Small Redemption” has been published in Sister Species: Women, Animals and Social Justice.
Meals in my home are always a random assortment of things: a vegan hodgepodge. My life seems to be same these days as well. This blog offers a variety of tidbits to digest and musings to mull over from a vegan trying to make a little sense of this crazy but beautiful world.—Sangu Iyer
p.s. I also started this literary animal blog.
